Having a support system in the form of loved ones is important, especially as you navigate through the ups and downs of life.

For one 10-year-old musician in Singapore, her support system who has been there since day 1 of her music career is her loving Gong Gong (grandfather in Mandarin)!

The musician, Lylahzn 黄姿宁, took to her Facebook page to showcase her grandfather and her appreciation for him as he has attended and stayed by her side through every single one of her performances.

She wrote, “This is my Gong Gong. In some of my videos, you can hear only one person clapping. That’s him. He attends EVERY show of mine since my very first busking set in November 2022, clapping from start to finish.”

In the image she showcased, her grandfather could be seen in the background, clapping his hands, as she performed on the streets of Singapore.

The 10-year-old girl, who is also a multi-instrumentalist, was also seen dedicating a song to her Gong Gong and Po PO (grandmother in Mandarin) as they were present to support her during her recent performance at The Music Run Singapore 2024 at the Marina Bayfront Event Space.

Feeling the love and support from her grandfather, she shared her appreciation for him.

“Thank you for the support, Gong Gong. When I grow up, I want to be as cool and supportive as you.”

We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this amazingly talented young musician and her Gong Gong!
