UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr Akmal Saleh is searching for 18-year-old Ikram, who was found alone near the Pasar Seni LRT station in Kuala Lumpur without any form of documentation or cash.
Akmal, who is also the Merlimau Assemblyman, is seeking the public’s help to locate Ikram, who went missing after activists advised him to wait at a safe location. Ikram hails from Jasin, Melaka, and the UMNO Youth Chief has stated that he will not abandon the young man.

“If you have no one to celebrate Aidilfitri with, you have us”
In a Facebook video posted today (12 March), Akmal mentioned that he had asked his wife to contact the activist’s wife to gather more information about the situation.
Akmal intends to assist Ikram in any way possible and urged the teenager to reach out to him if he sees the video.
“What are you going through that you need to travel to Kuala Lumpur alone? I want to help you get back to Jasin to celebrate Aidilfitri with the family. If you don’t have family, you have us to celebrate with.”

Akmal has also sought public assistance in identifying Ikram, who was last seen at the National Mosque.
“Kid, reach out to me; I’ll do my best to help,” Akmal said, hoping to catch the teenager’s attention.
Background of his disappearance
Ikram had reportedly been on the streets of Kuala Lumpur for four days. Previously, a man named Abbe Hae found Ikram sitting alone at around 2 AM on the interconnecting bridge between KTM Kuala Lumpur and LRT Pasar Seni.
Ikram, who claimed to be an orphan, said that his identity card (IC) was being held by a cousin at his home in Melaka.

Last known whereabouts
Abbe Hae provided the teenager with RM100 for emergency use before moving him to a safer location with other companions. However, when he returned in the morning, Abbe Hae was informed that Ikram had made his way to the National Mosque.
Upon checking, Ikram was nowhere to be found at the mosque, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
