Yap Xin Yuan’s Boyfriend & His Brother Released on Bail, Father to Serve as Prosecution’s Witness

The murder suspects of the 15-year-old Yap Xin Yuan – her 16-year-old boyfriend, and his brother were released on bail yesterday (January 10).

In a report by Sin Chew and Astro Awani, PDRM confirmed that both suspects were released on bail. Their father was also released, but he is expected to be the prosecution’s witness. The teenager and his brother had signed a bond to appear in court under Section 49 of the Criminal Procedure Court.

Despite their release, the case is NOT over

Kajang district’s Chief Police officer, Naazron, said that the investigation report was submitted to the Selangor District Attorney’s office yesterday. Now, they will have to wait for the next instruction from the prosecution to complete the case.

Naazron also assured the public that all actions are taken according to the legal procedures.

On December 19 last year, Yap Xin Yuan went missing, and 9 days later, her decomposing body was found at the garbage gate of the river in Banting. Her boyfriend admitted to having drugged her, which may have caused her death.
