A Taiwanese primary school teacher was sentenced to 17 years in jail by the Taoyuan District Court after being accused of sexually assaulting a standard 6 student.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the teacher had fallen for the student and eventually got pregnant, giving birth to a baby boy.

The Taoyuan District Court found that the teacher had sexually assaulted the student 9 times during class and lunch breaks between February 25 and June 23, 2020.

She eventually got pregnant in May that year and gave birth the following year.

Their relationship only came to light when the student’s father found out and called the police.

She attempted to shift the blame onto the student

During the investigation, the teacher denied everything and claimed it was the student who took advantage of her, but the prosecutor didn’t buy it and still charged her.

From the boy’s confession, it was clear he wasn’t the one who initiated anything, but in fact the other way around.

He also said he was scared the first 2 times they had sexual intercourse, especially since he didn’t want it to happen in the first place.

The court later found that the teacher had committed 2 counts of forcing sexual intercourse with teenagers under the age of 14 and sentenced her to 17 years and 6 months in prison.

In addition, she was fired and banned from ever working as a teacher again under the Teachers Law.
