The vaccination capacity at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL) Vaccination Center (PPV) for the AstraZeneca vaccine has been increased up to 8,100 doses a day starting today (May 15) making it the largest-scale PPV in Malaysia to date. ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd (ProtectHealth) Chief Executive Officer Dr Anas Alam Faizi, as reported by Harian Metro said, previously, the vaccination capacity that could be implemented at the PPV was only about 2,400 doses of vaccine a day.

Apart from WTCKL, the capacity of PPV at Universiti Malaya and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for the same vaccine was also increased from 900 to 1,300 doses per day. He explained,

“The increase in capacity at PPV can further improve the AstraZeneca vaccination process and a total of 8,100 injection appointments are scheduled to take place tomorrow here (WTCKL). The first appointment is at 9 am and the last injection is expected to be at 8.30 pm. To further smoothen out the process, we have also prepared a special route for OKU (People with Disabilities) individuals.”

Here is the walkthrough if you’re going to get vaccinated in WTCKL:

Dr Anas also mentioned that the PPV for the fourth AstraZeneca vaccine at the Shah Alam Ideal Convention Center (IDCC) is scheduled to start operating on May 24 with a vaccination capacity of 3,000 doses a day. With the increase in capacity of vaccinations at all the PPV throughout the country, we hope that Malaysia can achieve herd immunity soon and start living semi-normally and safely.
