Although we often hear instances of women getting sexually harassed, on the rare ocassions, men are also subject to sexual harassment by random women.
Recently, a photo of a pair of male cyclists went viral for all the wrong reasons. The picture which was supposed to highlight one of the cyclist’s broken bike frame ended up drawing unwanted attention to one of the cyclist’s tight fitting bike shorts where the shape of his genitals was in full display.
The picture has since been shared across multiple Facebook pages where female netizens proceeded to inappropriately comment on it.
“The arrow is pointing upwards.”
“Wow, the mushroom that grows during rainy season has grown,” said another.
Another user commented, “Suddenly I feel like cycling after this.”
“Asian size remains enthusiastic”
Still sexual harassment
The inappropriate comments have made its way to Twitter where netizens debated on who is in the right and wrong. It has caused a debate amongst netizens.
“If guys were to comment like that, we’d get criticised badly. But if it’s women? Men and women are the same, there are some perverted ones and some who are not.”
“Imagine if it were men commenting that on women. They’d get labelled as a pervert,” said another user.
On the other hand, a few netizens said that it’s fair because men always sexually harass women.
“Next time close your aurat properly. Just giving back what you guys have been giving to us all this while.”
Another said, “Can’t blame them because you’re wearing sexy clothes.”
Two wrongs certainly don’t make a right. We hope that both men and women refrain from inappropriately commenting on a stranger.
