It is always better to be wary of your surroundings especially for lone ladies as everyone can potentially fall victim to predators driven by their bad intentions.

A woman, Sinyee Ng, has recently shared her harrowing experience in which she nearly escaped thanks to her quick thinking.

She recalled the incident that happened on 1 November, where she was walking to her car in 1 Utama. It was during then, she noticed a suspicious man with a jacket on, following her while holding a parcel-like item.

Sinyee elaborated,

“When I slowed down, he slowed down too. He seemed to be observing which car I’d get in to. I pretended to walk pass my car, but quickly turned back to hop on my car and lock the door.”

The suspicious man was also slowed down by another car which was reversing into a parking spot.

She further shared what shockingly happened after,

“Then he walked to the side of my passenger seat and tugged on my door trying to get in. He was shocked that it was locked.”

Luckily for Sinyee, she managed to lock her doors in time and she then started honking to attract attention towards her car. This immediately caused the man to run away.

She also mentioned that the incident occurred during lunch hour where a lot of people were coming into 1 Utama, pointing out that crime can potentially happen at any time, anywhere.

She expressed her gratitude but also warned her friends to always be alert and be safe. It is great that the attempt on her failed but imagine what will happen to the next potential victim?

Her friends have also expressed their gratitude that she is safe while others suggested her to inform the security office of 1 Utama to prevent future cases like this from happening.

Let’s hope that the culprit is caught soon! For all the ladies out there, please be safe and if you are at the parking area of a mall, please ask the security to accompany you to your car if possible.
