Ah, the things you do for love.
A woman in her 20s from Tawau, Sabah was reported to have put on a policewoman disguise in order to impress her boyfriend’s parents, according to Info Roadblock JPJ/Polis.
It is said that the woman had travelled from Sabah to Kelantan just to meet her boyfriend who lives in Bachok. She was subjected to 14-days of quarantine before she was able to meet her significant other. She stayed with her boyfriend (who is an army personnel) at his parents’ house for about a week before they realised something was amiss.
When she was living with them, she had a habit of hanging her “Inspector” uniform in her boyfriend’s car. It is believed that she did this deliberately to let his parents know that she is trustworthy, has a stable income, etc.
However, his parents were growing suspicious of her as her little “staycation” was quite long. So they went over to the police station to make a complaint and the impostor was arrested at about 8pm on 9 December.
The Kelantan police chief has said that prior investigations have shown that the woman had committed the same offence back in 2017 at Sungai Besi.
She has since been remanded and a PDRM operations clothing set was confiscated. This case will be investigated under Section 170 of the Penal Code and Section 89 (c) of the 1967 Police act for the possession of police equipment.
