A woman in Shanghai, China, recently had no choice but to remove all her makeup while trying to clear Immigration.

The facial recognition system could not recognise the woman, forcing her to remove her cosmetics on the spot.

She unwillingly removed her makeup while another person who recorded the scene laughed at the situation, and told the unfortunate lady that the more makeup she applied, the more trouble it had caused her.

“Wipe everything off until you look like your passport photo. Why would you do your makeup like that? You are asking for trouble,” she laughed while the woman continued to rub her face hard to remove the makeup.

The clip is currently circulating on social media after it was initially shared on an Instagram page @wchinapost, and we’re sure that many of you who are familiar with makeup can feel the “pain” of having to remove a full face of product.

She also got angry at the person recording the scene, who blamed her for applying too much makeup.

“Give her a break, will you?”

Social media users, on the other hand, were not happy to see that the person who was recording the scene was not helping to ease her but was also rubbing salt in the wound.

“Don’t blame the makeup when your technology is not performing. This is so uncomfortable when someone is laughing at you.”

“She was already removing her makeup, why were you still talking and laughing? She was mad because she wanted you to keep quiet.”

“This just shows that the machines in your country are not doing their job well; it’s not her problem.”

We hope the woman managed to reach her destination safely despite the unforeseen circumstances.
