This is so horrifying!

Late last month, a young 11-year-old girl suffered severe burns to her face from hot oil. Her step-grandmother is reportedly the sole suspect in the case.

The young Indonesian girl, known simply as RH, was rushed to a nearby hospital in Bandung on 29th September after the incident reportedly occurred.

The incident transpired at their home, where RH’s step-grandmother asked her to fry snacks for the family that day. However, RH said she wanted to rest because she was having a headache. This upset the woman, who then allegedly dragged the girl into the kitchen and pushed her face into hot cooking oil!

My daughter did not recall anything (after that), she was on the bed (when she regained consciousness). She received first aid after her grandfather took her to Gunung Halu Hospital, but she was only given an ointment then. The doctor said she would be fine,” RH’s father told Rappler yesterday (10th October).

The girl’s father apparently lives in a separate house from her, and only found out about RH’s horrible injuries the following day, after she received first aid. As soon as he found out, he rushed her to another hospital for her to receive proper medical treatment. He then filed a police report against RH’s step-grandmother.

“My daughter is a quiet girl. The neighbours said that she was often beaten, and she rarely goes to school because her step-grandmother often forces RH to help her.”

However, the girl’s step-grandmother insists the incident was an accident. She reportedly said she was frying snacks when RH came into the kitchen. The girl then told her she wanted to fry the snacks, so the step-grandmother went to prepare another dish.

After frying 11 pieces she (RH) complained of a headache. I told her to rest. When I returned to the kitchen, (RH) had already fallen on the floor,” the girl’s step-grandmother told local media, according to Coconuts.

The woman said she found RH lying on the floor, where the cooking oil allegedly fell out of the wok. Meanwhile, the authorities are currently investigating the case to see what actually happened that day.

As for RH, the 11-year-old will reportedly be undergoing an operation on her face in two days.

We hope the young girl recovers from this traumatic incident and that the authorities take appropriate action.
