The 13th General Election, circa 2013 was the one to remember, not particularly for its victory, but for the power failure that Malaysians will forever remember.

While the 14th GE in 2018 proceeded smoothly which was followed by Pakatan Harapan’s victory, that does not stop some Malaysians from wondering, will the history of GE13 repeat itself in the GE15, which is just a couple of days away?

“We’re ensuring a stable power supply”

In case you’re one of the concerned citizens, TNB has assured that they have made comprehensive preparation to make sure that all 6,623 polling stations in the country will not run out of power supply.

“We have also asked the relevant parties to avoid excavation works on the polling day,  which will reduce the risk of touching the cables that may damaged them”, said Wan Nazmy Wan Mahmood, the Chief Distribution Network Officer in TNB.

He added that the organisation has postponed similar projects since yesterday (November 16) so that it can focus on ensuring the stability of the power supply during GE15, especially during the announcement of the result, reported Oriental Daily.

However, if some of the projects are unavoidable, then strict procedures and rules will have to be followed the reduce the risks of blackout.

“We are ready and have teams deployed to monitor critical locations and be on standby”, he clarified.

To ensure a smooth process during the entire GE15, Wan Nazmy also said that TNB is cooperating with the Election Commission and the state governments to obtain the full information on the electricity in all voting stations, as well as the counting centers.

We would like to express our gratitude in advance to TNB, and all related parties who are committed to working together to ensure a smooth process of GE15.
