Empathy is so important, regardless of where you are. Not everything is about you all the time but a film crew in China recently put aside empathy just to get their jobs done.

The film crew was filming a scene at the ICU of a hospital in Henan, China. You know what being admitted to ICU means – it’s a life or death situation, and the uncertainties are a pain in the heart.

A woman, whose mum was admitted into the ICU was crying outside the ward but the film crew, who was filming not far from her was NOT happy with her tears. They wanted her to lower down her voice.

“They approached us and told us to lower down our voices,” said the brother of the crying sister.

The brother and the film crew argued a little but it didn’t last long because the family wanted to focus on their mum who was fighting for her dear life.

The matter, however, did not end there.

According to Weibo, The film crew was not happy that the process was interrupted and they wanted to sue the hospital, as revealed by one of the hospital’s PICs. It turned out that the alleged PIC was actually one of the crew members!

The brother then posted a video about the matter online to voice out his dissatisfaction.

“Why were they allowed to use the space in the hospital and film there?”

The crew then reached out to the man but NOT to apologise. They wanted the man to take down the video.

On June 3, the crew members reached out again to apologise to the family for the matter. The brother, however, hoped that the film crew could make the apology public.

A day later, it was reported that the matter had been resolved amicably and the brother has since taken down the video.

Regardless of what you’re doing anywhere and at any time, a little empathy won’t hurt.
