It’s truly the moments like these that show the true spirit of Malaysians!

If you’ve ever worked in offices, you’re probably familiar with the makcik cleaners who constantly ensure the office is clean all while being friendly with a smile on their faces. Despite their hard work, we sometimes tend to overlook the impact these makciks have had on us.

However, the same can’t be said for this group of employees. Twitter user Izwan Sajjer (@IzwanSajjer) shared how he and his colleagues came together and bought their makcik cleaner, Kak Jati a gold bracelet since they’re moving to KL from Petaling Jaya and have to terminate their cleaner contract.

“She has been cleaning our company for years and is always friendly. So, we all decided to come together and buy her a gold bracelet to repay her deeds.”

Izwan added that despite being of different races and nationalities, respecting each other is what’s most important in order to maintain unity. He also thanked all his colleagues for contributing to Kak Jati’s gift and said Kak Jati has been placed in an agency before getting reassigned.

Izwan’s tweet has since gone viral garnering more than 10K likes with most users praising Izwan and his colleagues for showing appreciation towards their cleaner. They even said how appreciating our cleaners should be a more common practice among Malaysians.

If you’re in your office right now, why not show your cleaners some appreciation? Maybe a snack or even a drink? Let us know what you think about this!
