Sepak Takraw, a sport of airborne athleticism, has captured the nation’s attention by storm at the recently concluded 2024 ISTAF World Cup.
Wanting to continue that attention further, more and more videos of grassroots Sepak Takraw have made their way onto social media, and this one did just that.
Taking place at the Jempol MSSD L15, a team led by legendary school coach Affandi Rahman, featured players of Indian descent, adding more flare to the competition.
In the comments section, many former players shared their point of view.
“This brings back memories. I represented my school in the 1990s. My friend and I were the only two Indian players in the Kinta district.”
“I was also a representative of my school. There used to be a non-Malay category, but I competed with my other Malay team mates in the open category. Never missed a kill,” said a user.
Let’s hope we’ll see more of this in the future!
