Taking to TikTok, an Utusan reporter almost became the victim of a car theft scam when two men approached her, insisting that there was a lapse in payment and that they needed to repo her car straightaway.
The incident, which was caught on camera, happened at the Genting Sempah R&R before authorities jumped in and took action.
In the video, the man can be seen insisting that he had all the documentation for him and his buddy to repossess her car.
After failing, here is what he said: “I can’t do anything if I just come to you and talk.”
“Let me go to my car and get the documents.”
The reporter managed to call their bluff, stating that both men were running away when they knew that their tricks did not work on her.

According to Utusan Online, police and LPT operators have taken action against the scammers.
In the comments section, here are some choice experiences shared by netizens commenting on the video.
“I’ve faced similar situations near Rawang and Seremban R&Rs. I asked them for proof of authority and threatened to call the cops if they failed to produce one. They took off after that.”
“For me this happened at the Tapah R&R. They wanted to repossess my car because there was a lapse in payment. They stumbled when mentioning the bank my car was financed under,” said a user.
In the news report, the reporter took it upon herself to ensure that the scammer will not victimise others, especially during the holiday season when everyone will be driving up and down the country.
Be extra, extra, extra vigilant everybody!
