“Visitors keep coming back for more!” – Malaysia Wins Destination of the Year at Prestigious Global Awards

Leading Southeast Asian travel media company TripZilla recently held its 10th annual TripZilla Excellence Awards in Singapore, in which Malaysia was awarded the prestigious title of “Destination of the Year. 

The 2024 TripZilla Excellence Awards was the largest to date, with the company announcing a record number of nominees and voters through an extensive voting process involving passionate travel enthusiasts, culminating in over 60 awards recognising exceptional contributions to travel.

TripZilla lauded Malaysia as the deserved winner of the Destination of the Year award, elaborating that the country encapsulates the spirit of modern Asia while preserving its cultural roots. 

The company elaborated,

“From lush rainforests and pristine beaches to world-renowned delicacies and cultural diversity, Malaysia is a treasure trove of experiences.”

“Travellers can dive into the energetic atmosphere of Kuala Lumpur and Penang or venture into the natural wonders of Sarawak for a truly memorable adventure.”

Tourism Malaysia lauds the accolade and strives for more success in the upcoming years

In a press release, Tourism Malaysia said that this accolade acknowledges Malaysia’s exceptional tourism offerings, diverse culture, and commitment to enhancing the travel experience for tourists.

Director General of Tourism Malaysia Datuk Manoharan Periasamy commented,

“As Malaysia celebrates this remarkable achievement, we warmly invite travellers to explore our nation’s unique charm, exceptional hospitality, and the myriad of experiences awaiting discovery.”

Tourism Malaysia added that it’s now gearing up for an exciting year ahead, with various promotional campaigns aimed at attracting tourists from all over the globe.

The agency under the Ministry of Tourism further announced that the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026 has set a target of 35.6 million foreign tourist arrivals, with a target receipt of RM147.1 billion.
