The rescue work for the woman who fell into the sinkhole is still in full swing, but unfortunately, PDRM and firefighters are still unable to locate the woman.
And here’s another disappointing update.
“The victim is believed to have been have been swept away by the strong underground water current.” said Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, the Chief Police of KL.
Datuk Rusdi said the search and rescue (SAR) operation for the victim requires careful planning as it involves public infrastructure, reported Sinar Harian.
“They are now following the protocols and discussions are being held with the Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) and the relevant agency regarding the plan because they cannot do as they please.”
Various factors need to be considered including the condition of the gas underground.
The search operation has been ongoing for 10 hours since the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Kuala Lumpur received an emergency call at 8:22 this morning.
Police also said the firefighters are currently on standby at the Pantai Dalam area, the last location of the drainage connection located at the Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) drainage center of Pantai Dalam.
Stay tuned as we keep you updated!
