Perikatan Nasional by-election operations director Annuar Musa was recently seen in Nenggiri, Kelantan, distributing food aid to the orang asli community members while their state by-election is ongoing.
While he handed out packets of instant noodles and biscuits, many eagle-eyed netizens took notice of the jacket he was wearing. According to Sukan Star TV, the jacket is by Louis Vuitton and after a quick check online, we discovered that it sells for a whopping HK$23,900 (RM13,661.84).
Dress to impress while handing out food aid?
Seeing this, UMNO supreme council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi recently took to his Facebook page to tell Annuar Musa to “act a bit” by ditching the designer wear and dressing more religiously while facing the underprivileged.
He wrote, “A few photos of Annuar Musa wearing Louis Vuitton items have gone viral. This is due to Annuar wearing an LV jacket while handing out instant noodles to Orang Asli voters. His jacket is LV, watch is LV and even his slippers are LV.”
“Pity Annuar. There is nothing wrong with him wearing branded items. It’s his money. But, it should be based on the situation. Next time, don’t go overboard when saying the people are living difficult lives while you’re there wearing LV.”
It is important to note that only Annuar Musa’s jacket has gone viral and there is no chatter about his watch or slippers as they cannot be seen in photos.
Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi instead told him that he should “act” relatable to regular folks by dressing in religious wear.
“Pretend a little lah. Wear a kopiah (a Muslim religious cap) and a Cop Gajah branded kain pelekat (a type of sarong worn by the Muslim community), and sit there,”
“Annuar said that it’s overboard for PAS members to accuse DAP of being kafir harbi (non-Muslims who are against Islam). But, him wearing a Louis Vuitton jacket isn’t overboard?” he added.
Do you think the Louis Vuitton jacket worn by Annuar Musa was inappropriate for food aid distribution? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
