Road rages and fights arising from a lack of road courtesy are all the rage now.
We are all too familiar with news stories of drivers throwing tantrums or acting aggressively just because things did not go their way.
However, that does not mean we should normalise these behaviours!
Asking nicely
One Malaysian man took it upon himself to lead by example when he calmly asked the car driver in front of him to read a road sign properly.
In the video shared on the @malaysianupdatenews public TikTok page, the man can be seen walking up to a car waiting at a junction.
The car was not moving as the traffic light showed red.
However, as the kind man pointed out in the video with over 600,000 views, the car can actually move despite the red traffic light.
This is because there is a sign below the traffic light that reads, “Turn left if there are no vehicles.”
Instead of lashing out at the driver for not noticing the sign, this man patiently got off his car, walked to the front of the line, gently knocked on the car’s window and then pointed to the sign.
We love a patient and non-aggressive man!
Realising their mistake, the car started moving, followed by the other vehicles at the back.
Netizens shower praise on the man
In the comments section, netizens are generous with their praise.
“The best, bro. This is the real way. Not arguing on the road, honking, getting into fist fights and hitting cars. This bro handled it the best.”
“His cool face that doesn’t show anger is what’s important. His level of patience is high.”
A few even made jokes about the situation.
“The habit of reading is important. But for those who really don’t notice it, what can we do?”
All of us can definitely learn something from this man right here!
