Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is unimpressed by the first 100 days of the Unity Government’s administration, claiming that no significant changes had been done for the benefit of the rakyat. Speaking at a press conference in Putrajaya yesterday (4 March 2023), Mahathir said that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim only knows how to speak and gain popular support through the recently tabled Budget 2023.

As reported by Utusan Malaysia, Mahathir claimed that Anwar is only “making promises to gain support”. The former Langkawi Member of Parliament (MP) was quoted as saying,

“He (Anwar) makes statements daily on supposedly wanting to do many things, but nothing has changed because he only knows how to speak,”

Commenting on Budget 2023, Mahathir said that it is supposedly the biggest in Malaysian history but the rakyat need to be aware that the government has to borrow a lot of money to implement it. He further claimed that Malaysians would have to inherit up to RM1.5 trillion of debt due to Budget 2023.

So, what do you guys think of the statement by Mahathir? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
