Do you remember trying to memorise all the different formulae in Mathematics? Trying out the various methods from school teachers, tuition class teachers and friends; some of these methods are not even in English!
So, looking for fun ways to help students remember mathematical concepts and formulae is nothing new. It is an age-old conquest that mathematics teachers have long embarked on.
But recently, an Indian teacher’s fun and musical way of teaching trigonometry to students in the US went viral.
Bala Reddy abbreviated and turned complex mathematical formulae and theorems into songs to help his students remember them better.
In an old video of him that has resurfaced online, Bala Reddy is seen reciting some trigonometry formulae with his students as they chanted to a steady thumping of their classroom desks. They were singing trigonometry essentials “Sin 0 0; Sin 30 1/2…”
The video shared on Twitter has racked up a million views since being shared on October 16, 2022.
Expressing praise and sharing tips
In the replies, netizens expressed praise for Bala, whose devotion to his students and passion for mathematics are evident in the video.
