Nothing’s more Malaysian than the good ol’ ‘Buku Tiga Lima‘! From your parents to the anneh at your local mamak joint, everyone had one of these to keep track of their debts and how much others owed them.
However, with everyone getting increasingly dependent on their phones, it’s only natural that not a lot of us would resort to notebooks nowadays. That’s why this local startup made the beloved Buku 555 evolve into a much more convenient app!
According to VulcanPost, Malaysian company, Data & Roses Sdn. Bhd. recently developed the free Buku 55 app to help users be on top of their debts. So, what’s the app like?
When you first open it, you’re advised to set up a PIN number to protect your information, and depending on your phone, you can also use your fingerprint to access the app. So, if you ask us, it definitely makes us feel safe using this app so far!
Once the PIN number has been keyed in, three sections with the categories “Kau Hutang Orang/You Owe Them”, “Orang Hutang Kau/They Owe You” and “Semua Sekali/Overall”. The sections are pretty self-explanatory and easy to navigate, too. All you have to do is just key in the date, the relevant names, and the amount of money, and it’s recorded!
Plus, if you’ve already settled your debt or collected the money that was owed to you, just tap their name, record the payment, and their name will automatically be wiped out from the list. Pretty straightforward, eh?
As an added bonus, the app is also available in two languages; English and Malay.
So, it’s as simple as that! The Buku 555 app is a pretty easy way to keep yourself on top of things, and it’s much more convenient and environmentally-friendly than a notebook. Guess this is the wave of the future now!
