Seliman Bandang, the oldest living Malaysian man, as recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR), sadly passed away yesterday (19 August) at the age of 113.
As reported by The Borneo Post, Seliman’s passing was confirmed by his son Tuai Rumah Mulok Seliman. The 113-year-old breathed his last breath at Hospital Saratok, Sarawak at 5.20 am yesterday after receiving treatment for the past few days there due to illness.
Seliman’s grandson, Michael Bandang, SelimanThe deceased was brought back to the family’s longhouse in Klua Krian, Saratok and is scheduled to be buried on the morning of 22 August at the Klua Christian Cemetary.
Mulok shared,
“He left behind 2 children, 9 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.”
On 29 August 2021, Seliman from Tenggalat in Saratok was announced by MBR as the oldest living man in Malaysia through a livestream on its Facebook page.
During the livestream, Seliman, through his grandson Micheal Bandang told viewers that his secret to longevity is always being happy and living a stress-free life. Seliman was previously discovered to be the oldest man in Malaysia after he came for his Covid-19 vaccination in Saratok in June 2021.
