According to CNN, Maradona’s heart attack was caused by electrical disturbances that caused the heart to suddenly stop beating. This comes after undergoing a successful surgery on a brain blood clot in early November and was to be treated for alcohol dependency, reported BBC.
Maradona was deemed one of the greatest football players of all time after his astounding performance as captain when Argentina won the 1986 World Cup against England. He scored an iconic goal that he later described as the “Hand of God.”
