A Grade 11 student punched his teacher in the face after getting less than a perfect score in a mid-term exam at a private school in Thailand.

The incident happened on Tuesday (August 5) when the student lost his temper upon receiving 18 out of 20 marks.

He asked the teacher to change his score

According to the Bangkok Post, the student later confronted the teacher to ask why he didn’t get a perfect score.

She explained that while his answers were correct, he hadn’t shown the working steps required by the question, so full marks couldn’t be given. She even suggested he check with other teachers to see if they used the same marking rules.

After getting the same answer from other teachers, the student went back to the classroom and asked her to change his score. When she refused, he got upset, kicked a desk, and stormed out.

The teacher was sent to the hospital for treatment

A short while later, the student came back and demanded the teacher apologise to him, prompting her to question why she should.

He paused for a moment before suddenly punching her in the face in front of more than 20 classmates.

The attack left her with a bruised eye, swelling on her head, and injured ribs, all of which required hospital treatment. She filed a police report on August 8 and is set to give her statement soon.

Since then, the student’s parents have apologised to her, while the student has been suspended and has applied to withdraw from the school.
