If there’s anything that keeps the foreigners, or even ourselves reminded of Malaysia, food always comes first.

Taiwanese singer & actress, Joe Chen, who married a Malaysian man recently returned to JB and it didn’t take too long for her to feast on the food that is mostly unavailable in her homeland. Chen started her journey in Ipoh before she headed to JB and that was where she visited a Mamak and feasted on some of the local’s favorites.

In her recent Instagram post, Chen was seen with her plate of Maggi Goreng with fried chicken, and a bowl of ABC as dessert.

“I’m officially a foodie,” Chen said in her post.

On the same night, Chen shared a few more pictures of her in KL, with the caption that said, “I was still slim a few days back.”

Chen’s most recent post shows her chilling on the beach in Desaru, Johor. Malaysian netizens, on the other hand, said that she managed to maintain her weight after being a foodie for a few nights in KL. Some netizens also suggested other food that she should try before leaving back to Taiwan.

“You’re still slim. Have fun and enjoy the food here as much as you can!”

“What’s your secret to a speedy weight loss? Other than food, what else should we focus on?”

“As a Malaysian, I feel like you’ve travelled to more places than me.”

“You should have more of Nasi Lemak and Roti Prata.”

“Malaysia has become your foodie heaven.”

“The mutton soup at this Mamak restaurant is good.”

“The fried chicken in Pelita is good!”

We guess the food here is truly what keeps everyone around. Not only the locals but also foreigners who have visited our country have plenty of good things to say about the food here. As Malaysians, what’s the food that will keep you reminiscing when you’re far from home?
