The Youth and Sports Ministry will be implementing the work from home policy as the haze is getting worse by the day, reported Malay Mail.
YB Syed Saddiq said that they will be implementing the work from home policy once the API hits 200. To make it all work smoothly, the ministry will be issuing internal instructions to all the staff as they were working outdoors and therefore, were exposed to the haze.
He added,
“The ministry is aware of the hazard and dangers exposed to our staff. The implementation of the policy is to ensure the quality of life of our staff is taken care of continually. This policy is also inlined with the school closure order in affected areas.”
He also said that department heads will monitor the staff and officers’ work so that the quality of work is maintained to ensure the best service for the rakyat!
Syed Saddiq believes that this measure is a necessity and he hopes that other ministries and government agencies will adopt this policy as well!
That’s a good move to take considering the haze is getting worse. The effects of haze have taken its toll on everyone, just early this week, a 4-month old baby has died due to respiratory infection from the haze.
We do hope that government departments and even private companies alike will try to implement the work from home policy so that their staff will be less exposed to the haze!
