If you’re about to renew your road tax, then do take note!

Pos Malaysia has just confirmed that they will be charging an additional RM5 processing fee for the renewal of road tax and Motor Vehicle License (Lesen Kenderaan Motor, LKM).

This fee will only apply to their corporate customers starting next week (15 October 2018 onwards), according to Berita Harian.

Before, this information was made viral by a fellow Twitter user who uploaded it to his Instagram before sharing it on Twitter. After the post went viral, Pos Malaysia released a statement about the processing fee.

Their statement read,

“Pos Malaysia is aware of the viral notice about the announcement of additional charges (processing fee).”

“This notice is addressed to our corporate customers like bank representatives, finance companies, insurances/takaful company and new and used car sales companies. There will be no extra charges for individual customers,” the statement added.

On a different matter, another user claimed that Pos Malaysia will soon increase charges for their postal services due to the introduction of SST (Sales and Service Taxes) but Pos Malaysia has denied such claims of fee increment for their postal services. It stays the same, guys.

Well, it looks like the processing fee will only apply to corporate representatives and companies. So, individual customers, you don’t have to worry.

So, corporate reps and companies, do keep in mind that you have to pay an additional RM5 processing fee when you renew your road tax or license next time!
