As we enter the sixth day of the Movement Control Order, we should never forget the heroes of this pandemic, our healthcare professionals. They’re out there risking their lives day and night to save the lives of others. This is why it’s upsetting to find the healthcare staff themselves have contracted the virus in the midst of battling this outbreak.
Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah confirmed today that several medical staff from Hospital Teluk Intan (HTI) have been tested positive for Covid-19.

In the Facebook post, he confirmed that the staff from the hospital have been infected as everyone’s aware of the news that’s spreading through social media. However, he reassured that the hospital has taken safety and preventative measures to handle this infection.
“The HTI management has taken strict control action with the assistance of the Hilir Perak District Health Office, with preventive measures to minimise exposure to hospital staff being the main activity since the first case of Covid-19 positive infection was identified.”
Malay Mail reported that just a few days ago a post went viral, saying that the social media operations at HTI collapsed when six of its medical staffs were tested positive for the Covid-19. The Director-General urged netizens to not share any news without confirming its authenticity as this can just cause unnecessary panic.
It’s heartbreaking that some of the front liners have been affected by this virus but these heroes continue their battle despite this. As for us, our only job right now is to simply stay at home and not share fake news!
