It’s a given that the longer you delay in paying your bills, the higher the amount of debt that you have to settle in the future.

According to Syarikat Air Kelantan Sdn. Bhd, residents in 4 Kelantan districts have been skipping paying their water bills for at least 3 months. As of 31st December 2023, the outstanding amount has reached a whopping RM27 MILLION!

The districts have been identified as Pasir Putih, Tumpat, Bachok, and Pasir Mas.

“However, some residents in other districts are cooperating by paying their bills. Most of them won’t take more than 2 months to settle the bills,” the manager of AKSB, Izani said.

Izani said that his party is implementing a program to encourage consumers to pay their water bill arrears as soon as possible.

“The payment would help ASKB’s cash flow and be able to speed up actions, especially in pipe repair works.”

He added that on-time payment helps a lot in further improving the quality of service to customers.

In a Facebook post last night (January 23), AKSB said actions will be taken against those who are not paying their water bills. To those staying in the state, especially the mentioned districts, your domestic account may be suspended if you do not settle your water bills for more than 3 months, and not only that but also having your water supply cut.

“AKSB is actively suspending the domestic accounts of those who have outstanding bills. We would like to remind you to settle your outstanding bills to avoid water supply cut.”

We cannot stress how tough life can be without a water supply, and we’re sure those who experience water cuts or don’t have access to clean water can relate. Always prioritise your commitment to avoid a massive amount of outstanding debts.
