Mamak is a vital part of our Malaysian culture. I mean, nothing can be more Malaysian than a mamak session where we drink teh tarik, lepak (especially during football games), and gather among different races.

One of the most popular mamak restaurants in the Klang Valley is known as “Murni Discovery”. Famed for its unique and extensive menu (they have tons of roti variaties there), the brand officially announced their Cheras branch’s closing on 24th September. Nuuuu! :'(

Their post reads,

“With a heavy heart, tonight marks the last night for our Cheras branch. This is not goodbye, we promise we will be back with something much better & bigger!”

The branch in question is located in Bandar Sri Permaisuri.

Some wondered whether this branch is closed for renovations, is moving to a new location, or would be closed for good. The page admin clarifies that this Cheras outlet is indeed closed for good.

Netizens couldn’t help but express their sadness upon hearing the news that their favourite lepak place is closed.

“Oh no. Why tutup suddenly? The other Murnis are a bit far away from me,” one commented.

“Sad. All the past memories from this mamak store. Gone!” another netizen wrote.

“Very sad news. Wishing Murni for a better future, to serve us better food & service. 1F44D 1F3Fc?? PS: Hope there will be a Murni Cyberjaya after this. 1F60B?” one more netizen chimed in.

Without going in to more detail, the page also said,

“We’ll be back in Cheras again.”

Well, let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long for it! In the mean time, you can dine at their other outlets around Klang Valley.
