On June 23, a Malaysian lady who was making her way to her car got robbed at knife-point at the parking lot of Sutera Mall in Johor.
After going through the ordeal, the victim named Lee, shared her horrifying experience on Facebook to warn others about the rampant crime that’s been taking place recently.
Here’s what she wrote.
“At approximately 6.45pm, I walked to my car to get something. My gaze was fixated on a heavily-tinted Perodua Myvi and didn’t pay attention to my back.”
“Suddenly, a knife was pointed to my throat and the robber asked me to start the engine.”
“I was terrified, but I could feel that he was panicking and scared as well.”
“After the engine was started, he asked me to shift to the passenger seat. I tried to escape with my bag but he locked the car doors.”
“When he wasn’t paying attention, I opened the door and jumped out of the car. He then immediately sped away in my car with the passenger seat door still open.”
After she got on her feet, Lee frantically screamed for help, hoping there was a good Samaritan among the people around her. Sadly, no one came to her aid. What happened to humanity?
“A car was passing by and I thought I could ask him to help me. I knocked on his window but he accelerated and sped away.”
“After calming myself down, I noticed there were a lot of people around me at the time of the incident, but no one came forward to help me. I’ve never felt so helpless in my life before.”
She went on to file a police report regarding her stolen vehicle but was shocked by the revelation of the policeman.
“The policeman said that I was the fifth victim of the day. Four of the previous victims had their vehicles robbed as well.”
She hopes that the public can learn something from her experience and also simultaneously be on the lookout for her silver Perodua Myvi bearing the license plate ‘JRF 6476’.
Making a move during busy hours like dinner time? I’ve got to say that robbers are getting bolder by the day. Let us all unite and help each other out in such incidents, instead of just being a bystander.
