Remember the videos of the 2 men who pretended to be differently abled at a carpark and the 2 women cyclist who pretended to be differently abled at a petrol station toilet?

Well police are now on the hunt for them!

Sentul District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai said they received a complaint from a woman while at the Parliament building in Kuala Lumpur.

He said the woman came across two video clips uploaded on TikTok which mocked people with disabilities and even abused OKU facilities.

In the first video, two men were seen attempting to pose as a differently abled person at an OKU car park in a mall in Kuala Lumpur.

“The suspects were found trying to imitate being disabled after successfully parking their vehicles in the OKU car park and using rude and impolite language.”

As for the second video, two women were seen using the OKU toilet at a petrol station.

“They acted as if they were physically disabled and laughing.”

He added that the complainant lodged a police report for further investigation because she felt that all the individuals were blatantly insulting the OKU community in Malaysia and using differently abled people as material to attract users’ attention on social media.

According to him, his party is now tracking down all the suspects based on the information channeled.

“The case is classified under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Multimedia Communications Act for the offense of intentionally humiliating with intent to provoke a breach of the peace by improper use of social media,” Beh Eng Lai said.

“Police are advising the public to always abide by the law and together maintain well-being and harmony,” he added.

“Strict action based on existing laws will be taken against individuals who violate this law. People who have any information can contact the Sentul IPD Operations Room at 03-40482206.”

Let’s take this as a reminder to always show respect for others and treat one another equally.
