Last Wednesday (1 December), a male student broke his right wrist after getting beaten up by his senior in the dormitory of a secondary high school in Kulim, Kedah.

The Form One student complained of pain in his right wrist which the school then informed his mother to come and pick up the victim at the dormitory.

The victim’s mother picked him up at 3.30pm a day after the incident and brought her son to Kulim Hospital as his right wrist was swollen.

Broken Wrist

“The hospital informed that the student’s right wrist was broken, believed to be due to a strong blow. As a result, the student told his mother that he was beaten by some senior students while in the dormitory.”

Sources have also stated that the father of the student lodged a police report. The police then conducted an investigation and the victim claimed he was asked to wash clothes by a senior student at 11pm.

Men Depressed

“However, the victim refused to follow the instructions by giving excuse that he was busy before the senior student knocked his head and there was a fight.”

It has also been reported that during the time, about 8 other students tried to intervene and also took part in beating the victim, causing him to fall and injure his right hand.

The police are still conducting further investigations by recording evidence from all parties.
