It looks like Malaysia isn’t going into lockdown yet, but if they consider it, they’ll let us know earlier, at least that’s what we’re told.

In an announcement today on his Facebook page, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that if the country does indeed go into lockdown again, he’ll give Malaysians enough time to make arrangements for interstate traveling so that they don’t get stranded anywhere.

He also added that they have made a decision to implement a temporary ban on interstate travel from Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan to Peninsular Malaysia from 12 October to 25 October in an effort to reduce the number of new positive cases.

His decisions come as no surprise considering the number of cases quickly started skyrocketing again after a number of people have returned from East Malaysia, prompting government officials to take measures to try and control a possible second wave of Covid-19.

We hope that all Malaysians follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set in place by the authorities including wearing a face mask properly in public places and physical distance.
