PETRONAS Earns the Crown of the Strongest Brand in the Oil & Gas Sector Worldwide!

With billions of cars driving on roads all around the world, using petrol is a big part of daily life for many individuals. Despite the increasing petrol prices in Malaysia, we suppose there’s a silver lining after all.

PETRONAS, the Malaysian state-owned oil and gas giant, has earned itself the title of the strongest brand in the oil and gas sector worldwide for 2024 as reported by Seasia Stats.

PETRONAS has been crowned #1 worldwide

Brand Finance, a leading global independent brand valuation and strategy consultancy, released its Top 10 Strongest Oil & Gas Brands for 2024, with Petronas securing the top position on the list.

Petronas has maintained its position as the strongest global brand, retaining its AAA brand strength rating and achieving a Brand Strength Index (BSI) of 87.78.

The top 10 strongest oil & gas brands 2024

With PETRONAS leading the charge, PERTAMINA of Indonesia secures the 2nd position globally with a BSI of 84.4, while India’s IndianOil takes 3rd place with a BSI of 83.2, and Thailand’s PTT takes the 4th spot with a BSI of 82.4.

Here are the complete rankings for the countries included in the study, along with their respective scores:

  1. PETRONAS, Malaysia – 87.8
  2. PERTAMINA, Indonesia – 84.4
  3. IndianOil, India – 83.2
  4. PTT, Thailand – 82.4
  5. ADNOC, Abu Dhabi – 80.2
  6. HP, India – 80.2
  7. Bharat Petroleum, India – 79.9
  8. Sinopec, China – 79.2
  9. Reliance, India – 78.7
  10. Equinor, Norway – 77.9
