That’s not all.

The utensils and equipment also had the images of Mao Ze Dong and his slogans attached. This includes the teapots, cups, bowls, and plates.

The 20-year-old manager who was arrested said that the tableware in the store was purchased by the boss’s friend who lives in China, and then shipped back to Malaysia to be used by customers of the restaurant.

The video circulated after a customer visited the barbecue restaurant in Klang, which prompted PDRM to investigate the matter.

Speaking to the media, the Inspector-General Police (IGP), Tan Sri Razarudin Husin said the police seized five white ceramic bowls, one ceramic teacup, and one ceramic spoon that had communist images and elements on them.

“Police are currently remanding the suspect until tomorrow to allow the Klang Municipal Council to investigate the shop’s licence.”

Police also said that the illustration on the wall and utensils in the restaurant were aimed at attracting more Chinese customers.

The raid and arrest took place on December 4, and the matter is currently being investigated under Section 47 of the Societies Act 1966 and Section 505(b) of the Penal Code.
