A retired army commando was killed on March 7 (Friday), while his son was seriously injured after their motorcycle was hit by a car on Jalan Tok Kayaman, Beseri, Padang Besar, as reported by Harian Metro.
The accident happened at around 7:45 PM when the 49-year-old man (Rahimi) and his 16-year-old son (Umar Haziq) were on their motorcycle, reportedly on their way to a mosque in Padang Lati, Beseri, to break fast and perform Maghrib prayers.

They crashed into a streetlight pole
Due to the strong impact, the victims’ motorcycle skidded and crashed into a streetlight pole, while the car veered off and hit a drain wall on the opposite side.
Sadly, Rahimi died on the spot, while Umar Haziq and the car driver were badly injured and are now getting treatment.
According to Harian Metro, Padang Besar Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Sarih Salleh revealed that the 33-year-old driver is still receiving treatment at Hospital Tuanku Fauziah (HTF) due to severe injuries from the accident.

The driver is an OKU cardholder
In a new update, Padang Besar police confirmed that the 33-year-old driver, who was allegedly speeding before crashing into the motorcycle, is a registered Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) cardholder under the mental disability category.
Authorities will also refer back to HTF to assess whether the man was in a stable mental state at the time of the crash.
“The driver does have a mental disability OKU card, but we will conduct further investigations with the hospital to determine his current health status. He is still undergoing treatment. If necessary, we will proceed with an arrest once he recovers.”
