If you’re having seafood for lunch or dinner, and if you have a lot of people tagging along, be prepared to spend big bucks on your meal, especially if the prices for some items are not specified.

A seafood restaurant at a roadside food court in JB recently went viral after the wife of a local singer revealed that she was charged a total of RM1,260 for her lunch. It didn’t take long for the restaurant owner to respond and clarify the list of her orders 1 by 1 to justify the prices.

On the other hand, local filmmaker Michael Ang thinks there was no need to circulate the matter in the first place.

“At this point, the food has been digested. No point making a fuss.”

In an Instagram post yesterday (October 6), Michael said that he found the viral matter hilarious because it got more attention than deserved. To him, if you find a place unsatisfactory, making it viral is not the best way.

“If the price is shocking, just pay and tell yourself not to come back again.”

He then added that there was no point in making a big fuss over the matter when the food the family had eaten had been digested. Michael then shared his experience paying a ridiculously expensive price for 2 pax.

“I was having a meal at someplace, and the bill for 2 people was around RM1,700. I paid and after I left, I swore not to return again.”

The filmmaker added that as a business operator, he or she has the free will to set the menu’s prices. Michael then joked at the end of his post and said,

“Who’s interested in my claypot chicken rice? Only RM259.9 per portion.”

Regardless, always have a budget before feasting on the seafood meal if you’re unwilling to fork out some money.
