Nikon Malaysia Will Cease Its Operations Effective 1 January 2021 After 19 Years In Business

Nikon has been a camera brand loved by Malaysians for years however in a statement yesterday (4 November), Nikon Malaysia announced that they will be ceasing operations effective as of 1 January 2021 and its final operation day will be 31 December 2020.

They clarified in the statement that starting from January next year, Futuromic Photo AV Sdn. Bhd will be their appointed authorised distributor for the Imaging business to serve Nikon’s marketing, sales and after-sales service for its products and activities in Malaysia.

The statement also added that QES (Asia Pacific) Sdn. Bhd. will continue to be their authorised distributor for the Industrial Metrology business.

“We are grateful for our passionate community’s support and loyalty through the years with us, and it has been a pleasure serving both the Imaging and Industrial Metrology fields in Malaysia.”

Nikon reassured that that within the transition period between now and 31 December, they will operate as usual. Whoever wishing to reach out to them, can do so via their social channels.

Malaysians in the comment section expressed their sadness as it’s truly the end of an era. “Thank you Nikon Malaysia for your recognition, support and dedication throughout the years,” a Facebook user said.
