Recently, WORLD OF BUZZ featured a video of a cool, brand new speakeasy located in Chinatown. Inspired by the dark side of Chinese culture, the uniqueness of this bar quickly attracted more and more people. Of course ma, who doesn’t like a dead-people-themed bar, right?
Unfortunately, the cosy bar blew up overnight and way too many people soon flooded in. You can only imagine what happened next. Many customers were left dissatisfied as the waiters and bartenders of the place (aka Dead People) were unable to accommodate such a large crowd. Kenot blame them also what!
So, here’s what the owner of The Deceased (aka Lord of Hell) has to say about the recent overcrowding:
“The Deceased is a place for visitors to chill and unwind after a tough day or week. With the recent increase in customers, we have fallen short of everyone’s expectations, and for that we are very sorry. We are still in the soft launch stage and are completely unprepared for the sudden hike in demand.”
Besides apologising and admitting to their faults, The Deceased has also come up with a few changes to improve the bar’s quality and crowd control. Here are some of the improvements you can expect!
1. Reservations MUST be made
However, only a max of 50 reservations are accepted on weekdays, and 80 reservations on weekends. It is based on a first come, first served basis and last minute reservations are subject to availability. So, don’t be so last minute ok!
Here’s how you can make a reservation:
- Send them a message via Facebook between 10am and 10pm (WhatsApp and phone call reservations will NOT be entertained)
- Wait for a reply confirming your reservation (no reply = no reservation)
With this new implementation, The Deceased hopes to be able to minimize confusion, handle the crowd better and ensure everyone has a good time! ‘Cause nobody likes an overcrowded bar am I right.
2. There will be a new and improved drinks menu!
When it comes to bars, it’s not just the unique decor that attracts people, but the drink selections too. Obviously lah right!
Well, good news! By the end of April 2018, apart from quality signature cocktails, you can expect a brand new and unique drinks menu. Food and appetizers might be part of the new menu too! Might!
3. They’re looking for more people to join the team
Understandably, the reason behind the bad service was because The Deceased was extremely short-handed. With the new reservation policy, this shouldn’t be much of an issue anymore, but they are constantly looking for new, talented people to join the team of the Dead.
If you (or a friend) are interested to join the team and serve alongside the Dead, send your CV to steven.yap@minglekl.com today!
We’re not sure about you, but we’re pretty impressed with how The Deceased is handling the situation. It isn’t easy opening a brand new bar as unique as this one, but at least they acknowledged the situation and are taking immediate action to improve themselves!
“The Deceased is privileged to have so many followers and loyal guests who continue to visit ever since the first day we opened. We do not take that for granted. All the Dead People of the The Deceased are proud to serve you and we hope to do much better every day.”
