A 27-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly entering a young woman’s apartment unclothed, assaulting her, and stealing her mobile phone in a disturbing incident that occurred in Taman Sri Sentosa, Kuala Lumpur.

According to Berita Harian, the incident unfolded around 3 PM on Thursday (6 November) when the 20-year-old woman was hanging laundry. The suspect reportedly gained access through an unlocked yard door.

Upon hearing the grille door open, the woman assumed her housemate had returned, but was shocked to find a naked stranger approaching her inside her home.

Police say the man blocked her escape and physically attacked her, leaving her with bruises and scratches on her thigh, lips, and hand. He also allegedly threatened to kill her while demanding money.

Brickfields police chief ACP Hoo Chang Hook said the woman attempted to call for help, but the suspect snatched her phone and fled when she refused to reveal her password.

Investigations revealed the suspect had a history of 12 criminal cases and seven drug-related offences. He also tested positive for cannabis and admitted to committing multiple robberies to support his daily expenses.

He is currently remanded until November 13 as police continue their investigation under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
