A video has drawn significant attention online, with many calling for the authorities to look into the matter. Netizens have urged Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to investigate a structure believed to be located in Bukit Bintang.

In the viral clip, which has since been reshared across various social media platforms, a rectangular structure is shown to have been spray-painted in colours resembling a foreign flag.

At one point in the video, a man is seen walking up to the structure, wiping it with a cloth, and then saluting it.

DBKL conducts on-site investigation

DBKL has since responded to the incident, assuring the public that an inspection has already been carried out at the site.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, it confirmed that an investigation was conducted yesterday (26 April) in the area around Jalan Berangan, Bukit Bintang, following the concerns raised by the viral clip.

The local authority added that when its officers arrived at the location, no structure resembling the Bangladeshi flag was found, contrary to what had been portrayed on social media.

“Following the viral video, DBKL carried out checks in the area and did not find any structure resembling the Bangladeshi flag, as claimed online,” the statement read.

Offenders can be arrested without a warrant and face up to 6 months in jail, up to RM500 fine, or both if convicted.
