Just like the debate on whether pineapples belong on pizza, Malaysians recently stood up for the white Vitagen flavour when a tweet condemning it went viral.
Reza Razali on Sunday took to his Twitter to share a photo of 2 big bowls containing ice and bottles of Vitagen.
There were only the purple and white colour flavours of the Vitagen in the bowls, with the white ones exceeding the purple ones in number.
Reza wrote in his tweet:
“Dear White Vitagen,
No one likes you or wants you, even when you are free.
Sincerely, Purple Vitagen Lover”
The tweet gained the attention of fellow Vitagen drinkers and soon blew up. Almost all the people interacting with the tweet disagreed with Reza and defended the white Vitagen with their funny tweets.
Some also stated that white is not the worst flavour; orange is. Whereas others said all of them taste superb.
“Dear all Vitagen colours, you’re all delicious. *Takes the entire bowl and run.*”
A day after his original tweet, Reza updated the Twitter thread and shared another photo of more Vitagen bottles in the bowls. He wrote, “Vitagen status update today. Very few people ❤️ you around here white vitagen. ?” as there were still more white Vitagen than purple ones.
A professional opinion
There’s really no right or wrong in this debate as taste is subjective. However, a person who used to work in a Vitagen factory shared that the white flavour is actually much more expensive than the rest.
“From an ex Vitagen worker. White Vitagen or LB, as we call it, is much more expensive than the normal range,” the explained.
“At the production site, they always only produce just enough for testing because they’re scared that the workers will steal them if there’re extra. We never even bother with the other flavours.”
Do you have a favourite Vitagen flavour? They all taste pretty bomb to us, to be honest.
