The man in Kajang who recently punched and broke the nose of an unlicensed teenage driver had been sacked from his workplace.

The man, who is also allegedly the chairman of a Surau in Kajang was fired by Altis Holidays Sdn Bhd, where he worked as a freelance Mutawwif (a person who guides the pilgrims during their Umrah or Hajj pilgrimage and is also responsible for their well-being throughout the journey).

In its statement, Altis Holidays clarified and said the company has never appointed the man as the Syariah advisor of the company as stated on his Facebook profile.

Following the viral incident, the man has since deactivated all his social media accounts

Altis Holidays has also lodged a police report regarding the matter, saying,

“We have made a police report to protect our company. The man’s claims on his social media accounts have confused the public about his employment with us.”

“His recent case does not represent our company, and we would like to clarify that we are not liable for what he did. His position as the Mutawwif is terminated with immediate effect.”

Social media users recently found out about the man’s employment with Altis Holidays after noticing his information disclosed on his now-deactivated Facebook account. The company also reminded the public that the management will not hesitate to take legal action against those who spread defamation or send threats to the company.

The man was detained by the police for one day before PDRM released him on bail on March 16. The unlicensed teenager was also fined for driving illegally.

The Surau in Kajang, in the meantime, has yet to release a statement about the matter.
