A video of a brawl that took place in Pattaya, Thailand, has gone viral in the country recently, depicting a group of Indian tourists attacking a Belgian man in front of a condominium.

However, the group got more than they bargained for. Unbeknownst to them, the Belgian man was actually a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, and the group ended up badly injured instead.

As reported by the Thai-based publication Khaosod English, the incident occurred around midnight on Sunday (16 March) in front of a condominium in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district in Chonburi province.

The brawl was instigated by a dispute between the 22-year-old Belgian man, Maxim Arbil, and two Indian tourists, as the latter’s parked car blocked the entrance to the condominium.

Arbil’s Thai wife told reporters that after waiting quite some time for the Indian tourists to move the car, frustration grew and led to a verbal argument.

It then turned into a physical fight between the two Indian tourists and Arbil. Five minutes later, two more Indian tourists joined their friends in attacking the MMA fighter, who stood his ground.

There was only one security personnel at the condominium when the brawl took place, who didn’t intervene because he was outnumbered, leaving Arbil to fight alone. Thankfully, after about 20 minutes, the local police arrived and broke up the fight.

You can watch a snippet of the viral video here, as shared by Khaosod English:

The Belgium MMA fighter decided not to press charges as the group who attacked him ended up being more badly injured

Arbil’s wife shared,

“They couldn’t beat him because he’s bigger and has boxing experience. He loves Muay Thai, so he had the advantage,”

Indeed, according to a report by Thai Channel 8, the four Indian tourists who attacked Arbil ended up more badly injured as a result of the fight.

In fact, the Belgium MMA fighter even decided not to press charges against the group due to the tourists being more badly injured.

Furthermore, Arbil doesn’t want to deal with repeated court appearances as he travels back and forth to Pattaya.

The Belgium man just asked the group who attacked him to apologise and not take the matter any further.
