Given the proximity and the lucrative Singapore Dollar remuneration offered to work in Singapore, it should come as no surprise that approximately 1.13 million Malaysians cross the Causeway to work in the island state.

While there’s nothing wrong about finding work overseas, it’s important to always be respectful of the country you’re at and its laws.

Man reprimands fellow Malaysians working in Singapore for trashing a park in the country

Sharing to the Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers (MSBC) Facebook group, a Malaysian working in Singapore, Abdullah Mohammad Fazli shared some unsightly scenes at a park in Singapore that was trashed by fellow Malaysians working in the Republic.

In the post, Abdullah shared a couple of photos at the park, located between Woodlands CP to the Waterfront area that is filled with litter on the ground, with a motorcyclist also seen in 1 of the photos.

In the caption, Abdullah shared,

“To all brothers and sisters who ‘Run SGD’ that pass through this area… Please don’t litter here. I’m afraid that 1 day this area will be closed for all of us to rest after braving through traffic jams each morning.

“This is just a ‘soft’ reprimand for the benefit of us all. Don’t let a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch.”

Many Malaysians condemn these border crossers’ behaviour and urge people to be respectful of the locals, no matter where they are

In the comments section, many Malaysia-Singapore border crossers agreed with Abdullah’s advice, with some expressing their disappointment at these irresponsible people.

One commenter said that the exact same thing happened in Tuas near the Second Link, whereby there are many who litter after passing the toll.

Meanwhile, another commenter said that given that they’re making a living in Singapore, these people should be respectful of the country.

Another commenter echoed the same sentiment, saying that they could’ve put the trash in their motorcycle’s basket 1st if there were no waste bins around rather than littering on the ground.

So, what do you guys think of the whole situation? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
