There’s a saying that, to marry someone is to also marry their family. This is to ensure that someone who is getting married should be prepared to be a part of and deal with their spouse’s family’s traditions and quirks.
Though, we’re not sure if this Malaysian woman’s husband’s ridiculously relationship with his sister is considered quirky.
The woman took to the SecretsMY Twitter page to anonymously share her discomfort over how her husband and his sister interact with each other, especially when butt-slapping is involved.

She wrote, “Hi, I just want to express that I feel very uncomfortable with my husband’s family. I’ve known my husband for a long time and I know he is very close with his sister. Their age gap isn’t big and they’re both grown ups.”
“Before we got married, I know that he would sleep with his sister in the same room, they would lie down and hug each other in the living room.”

Cuddling and butt-slapping?
The woman decided to confront her husband about having boundaries with his female sibling, as she believes that they should have had some sort of separation even when they were children.
“But, my husband does not care. They’ve gotten used to being like that. Even their parents have never said anything about it. There was once where they were joking around in front of me, my husband slapped his sister’s butt. I was so saddened, if I confronted him, he would say that she’s his sister so it’s okay.”
“I don’t know how to confront him because it’ll turn against me. If we go to my mother-in-law’s house, I know I’ll get into it with my husband. If he’s not around me, I’ll get anxious and worried that he’s gone to joke around with his sister without boundaries,” she explained.

She also added that the husband’s sister is also very playful with her husband.
Coming from a more conservative family where siblings of different genders maintain their boundaries, her culture shock towards her husband’s family has left her feeling uncomfortable, though she does wish that she can get over these feelings.
