They say that desperate times call for desperate measures, especially when you’re running low on cash. Who knew that withdrawing money from the bank could be a challenge, especially when the bank closes at midnight?
In a recently deleted TikTok video, a clip has been circulating on social media, involving 4 friends visiting the bank to use the ATM machine.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Amir (pseudonym) shared how the incident took place at a bank in Kuala Lumpur. He revealed that the incident occurred spontaneously due to a sudden decision made by one of his friends to withdraw money.
He mentioned that the four friends had just finished work and were about to go home when they decided to make a pit stop at the bank.
Amir noted that they were well aware that the bank would close at exactly 12 o’clock in the morning. However, when they reached the bank, it was already 11:55pm. Thinking that they had 5 minutes left, the woman decided to try her luck.
He then proceeds to share how it took a while for the ATM machine to withdraw the money, hence why the automatic gate could be seen closing gradually as it was almost midnight.
“As the gate started closing, our friend could be heard calling out to us, while were still nearby on the premises. When we realised the gate was gradually closing, that’s when we decided to record her, as we found the situation quite funny due to her reaction.”
“It wasn’t our intention to make a joke out of the situation”
Amir shared that despite the chaos, he and his friends who were waiting outside knew about the button inside the bank that you could push when the gate starts closing.
What made the situation intense was the fact that their friend inside the bank didn’t even think of pressing the button, as she felt pressured at the time.
“The auxiliary police were actually around the corner at the time of the incident, which is why we weren’t too worried. The purpose of the button inside the bank is actually for safety reasons. Hopefully, my explanation will help netizens who aren’t aware of the existence of the button in every bank.”
Amir added,
“However, we would like to apologise for our actions in the video. It wasn’t our intention to make a joke out of the situation, especially knowing how scared our friend was at the time. We couldn’t record the last part because we needed to ensure that our friend was calm enough for us to remind her about the existence of the button in the bank.”
