Nasyid singer and composer, Muhammad Yasin Sulaiman is feeling thankful after the Magistrate’s Court acquitted him of charges on distributing cannabis, making the decision a positive development for him.
“Alhamdulillah, I am following the process and provisions of the existing law and I am very grateful for this decision,”
“Let’s not forget to thank my friends and family for their support, they are my main source of strength,” he said, as shared by Sinar Harian.
His family shared his joy as due to the Magistrate’s Court’s decision, he has also escaped the death penalty.
“We are all grateful for the development of this case, although we will not be able to celebrate Aidiladha with him, but Alhamdulillah, we are relieved with the development of this case that Yassin is facing. I hope our friends will continue to pray for Yasin,” shared Yasin’s brother, Zain Sulaiman.
However, he is still facing charges in possession of cannabis weighing 193.7 grams in accordance with Section 39A (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which provides for a life sentence of imprisonment or not less than five years of imprisonment and less than 10 lashes.
